Certified Financial Services Representative | 10 Years in The State Bank Family

“I started working for The State Bank 10 years ago after leaving the restaurant industry. I was hired as a part-time teller. I knew immediately that I was going to find a way to make part-time work until a full-time position was available. I’m sure glad I stuck to that decision. The State Bank has provided many opportunities and growth along the way, all while providing a healthy work/life balance. I appreciate all the relationships I’ve had along the way and never quit learning daily. There are great mentors in all departments who exhibit professionalism, a genuine desire to help, and an awesome outlook. The State Bank is supportive by providing flexibility in scheduling, understanding when life happens, the opportunity to grow, the ability to express oneself in a safe environment, and a true desire to listen and support each other. I’m proud to be part of a growing bank that continues to hold community and the relationships with our customers at its core. I look forward to what the next 10 years will bring!”

“Being in customer service for over ten years, you see a variety of ways companies handle their customers and staff. I have been with The State Bank for over a year and at every twist and turn of my journey, TSB has been there for me, both professionally and personally. We are very much a team-oriented place, where if one of our co-workers needs our help, we genuinely want to be there for them! And when it comes to our customers, they know their finances are handled with care and discretion. Every day I’m happy to come to work to help our customers and be a part of a team that is also happy to be here. It truly shows, and you know why? We carry our mission with us every day, wanting everyone to find their better state. The State Bank just does it better!”

“I have been with The State Bank for 38 years, starting as a co-op student in high school. I first worked in Retail, learning many things and wearing different hats. I transferred to Commercial Lending in 1995, it’s exciting to see how things have evolved over the years. Multiple family members have also worked at the bank, and some still do. We are encouraged to learn, grow and succeed, both professionally and personally and are respected by Senior Management. I am proud to be part of a company that is well respected by our peers and the communities we serve.”

Financial Advisor | 28 Years in The State Bank Family

“I started working for The State Bank in 1996 as a part-time drive-through teller. I was looking for an organization that was going to give me an opportunity to use my skills and hopefully develop a career in the financial industry. The State Bank rewarded me, and I was able to advance from that part-time position to a full-time personal banking position. As the bank continued to grow, so did my opportunities. My career has progressed through several positions including a customer service representative, assistant branch manager, trust and investment analyst, and financial advisor.

My reality these 28+ years later is that I have a career in the financial services industry. The most rewarding part of my career is the fact that my clients have now become my friends and that my co-workers are now my family.”

Personal Banking Representative | 1 Year in The State Bank Family

“I started here in August of 2023 coming back to work after an extended maternity/COVID leave. I chose The State Bank for a few reasons. It’s a local bank that has a great reputation and during the interview everyone was cool and dressed down and relaxed. Once I accepted the position and became part of the family it’s been great ever since. Each employee is appreciated as an individual and there is no pushy selling. This place not only takes care of its patrons but also, its employees like they are a real family.”

“I started working for The State Bank in August of 2023. I started out as a part-time Customer Service Representative Float and am currently working as a full-time Financial Service Representative. Although my career in banking is still very young, I believe I have learned a lot and made great strides. A big part in that is the great staff around me who helped mold me into the banker I am today. I am blessed to be surrounded by great co-workers in my branch as well as other branches. I am looking forward to see what my future holds at The State Bank and the great memories that will be created with both my co-workers as well as with our great customers!”

“I’m coming up on 3 years with The State Bank and my favorite thing about working here is the people. Even if I don’t know someone (who may work at a different branch), everyone I have met has been so friendly and welcoming. You can feel a sense of community within the bank! It is very refreshing to work with such a great group of people who truly care about our customers, our community and each other!”

“I have worked for The State Bank for 28 years. Starting as a part-time teller and moving my way up the ladder to where I am today is a result of being supported and encouraged by the Bank and every manager that I have had throughout my career. The State Bank supports each and every employee like family, this is evident in all the events created to acknowledge and recognize employees for their achievements, and attained goals and just to say thank you for being part of the family. I couldn’t think of working anywhere else.”

“I love the commitment shown to the communities the bank serves. Whether it is participating in a hometown parade, cleaning up a highway, donating time or money to the local schools, or contributing to the local community for a park, nature trail, canoe launch, or similar projects, I can really feel the camaraderie that the bank brings to the people and communities that we serve. It gives me pride to know that the organization I work for cares about the bigger picture of helping people with things beyond just their financial needs.

“I love working for The State Bank. I originally took a job here intending it to be temporary while I looked for something else, but it didn’t take long for it to feel like home. The people, the culture, the benefits, the flexibility, the leadership, the community, and the opportunity to grow – these are all the things that have kept me here for 10+ years. We are as competitive as the big banks, but we operate like the small community bank that we were born from. This allows us to stay in touch with our community, have flexibility in the decisions we make and take better care of our clients. I’m proud to work here and would recommend it to anyone I know.”

Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant | 7 years in The State Bank Family

“I have enjoyed every minute of my seven years of employment at The State Bank! Having always worked in Banking, I came from a much larger bank where I felt like just a number, and joining The State Bank was exactly what I was looking for. A local company that stands firm on their roots and co-workers who have become as close as friends and family. I have always received the support I have needed throughout my journey here and I have recruited many people to work here as well. One of my favorite parts of working here is the support of the locals- whether it be volunteering in the community or donating to local schools and events, I am proud to be a part of an organization that is always willing to help out those whom they serve!”

Community Banking Officer | 10 Years in The State Bank Family

“I have been with The State Bank for over 10 years and during that time I have had the opportunity to hold many titles at this institution. I started out my career as a Customer Service Representative. I loved the environment and the customer interaction that comes from performing teller transactions. I then took on the role of a Financial Service Representative allowing me to expand my banking knowledge and my ability to grow customer relationships. After that, I continued my career as a Community Office Supervisor and in this role, through great coaching from my own supervisor, I was able to gain confidence in my ability to coach and lead a team. From this position, I went on to become a Branch Manager. In this role, I have been encouraged to be part of the community through volunteering, in addition to being a leader and overseeing daily branch operations. I have always felt supported in my desire to advance and grow as an employee, and I have been offered training and coaching along the way. I love working for a company that cares about its employees, the community, and its customers!”

Portfolio Manager | 11 Years in The State Bank Family

“I started working at The State Bank just before my senior year of college, and while I applied for a temporary summer position, I was offered a permanent part-time CSR position. The Bank was great about working around my school schedule, especially during my last semester when I was taking 18 credit hours. Once I graduated, I was able to apply for a full time position as an FSR. Once I felt I was ready to leave Retail, I was able to move into Commercial Lending as a loan assistant, then into the Credit Department as an analyst, and I am currently a Portfolio Manger within the Commercial team. I feel that The State Bank has always been supportive of me as an employee and my future career goals – I have been able to apply and interview for new positions as they become available, and I have progressed a lot through different areas of the banking industry in my 8 years working here. I feel they have allowed me to become more well-rounded in my banking knowledge and experience and that I can continue to grow and progress with The State Bank in the future.”

Assistant Community Office Manager | 10 Years in The State Bank Family

“I have loved working for The State Bank since my first day of teller training seven years ago. Everyone, no matter the level or department, is always friendly, welcoming, and happy to help with anything; I have met some of my best friends while working here and have gotten to know many truly wonderful people. My managers have always supported me and encouraged my advancement to make sure I am using my strengths in the best possible way. I also feel that I have had the opportunity to grow personally and professionally, and I leave at the end of each day with the feeling that I’ve really achieved something. In addition to the excellent culture, the company also rewards exceptional employees with individual compliments, company-wide recognition, prizes, bonuses, incentives, and promotions, and that doesn’t even include our awesome banquets, holiday gifts, and employee appreciation days. They also know how to make community events fun for everyone; one of the highlights of my job is having the opportunity to participate in some really great events and fundraisers in several communities. Overall, I would recommend this company to anyone who is interested in banking, and I couldn’t be happier to be part of their team!”

“I have been working for The State Bank for over 46 years. I started pretty much out of high school and have been through many changes for the better. Over this length of time customers are not just customers – they are my friends. I have been lucky to share lots of ups and downs with these families – from weddings to babies and grandchildren – lots of joy, happiness and even some tears.
