Corey Ruthig received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Central Michigan University. He has 19 years of experience in business banking including 17 years of commercial lending.  Throughout his lending career he has closed over $100,000,000 in business with loans ranging in size from $50,000 up to $5,000,000. He has experience in both traditional and SBA loans secured by a wide variety of real estate including self-storage, multi-family, office, industrial, mixed use, single use, and net lease properties. Other areas of expertise include business acquisition loans, equipment loans and lines of credit. In 2021, Corey will celebrate his 10-year work anniversary at The State Bank.  

Corey is a lifelong resident of Livingston County. He and his wife Kari are currently building their 4th lake home. Their new home will be located on Woodland Lake in Brighton Township and is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2021. He enjoys spending time on the water with friends and family in the summer and snowmobiling in northern Michigan during the winter months.
